Το Moltres είναι ένα pokemon πτηνό με πορτοκαλί και χρυσό φτέρωμα. Έχει μακρύ και κυματιστό λοφίο στο κεφάλι και μια φουσκωτή ουρά και τα δυο από φωτιά. Επιπλέον τα φτερά του περιβάλλονται από φλόγες. Το ίσιο και μακρύ του ράμφος έχει καφέ χρώμα όπως και το ισοδάκτυλα πόδια του, που καταλήγουν σε μικρά νύχια.
Όταν το Moltres κουνάει τα φτερά του πετάγονται σπίθες, δημιουργώντας κύματα φλόγας. Βουτώντας σε μάγμα ενεργού ηφαιστείου αυτό το Pokemon θεραπεύεται. Μεταναστεύει Νότια με τον ερχομό της Άνοιξης, και λέγεται πως δημιουργεί πρόωρη καλοκαιρία σε παγωμένες περιοχές. Το Moltres έχει εμφανιστεί σπάνια .
